The RECOVERY BASE is an all-rounder when it comes to firmness. In total, you can choose between 8 different configurations with different levels of firmness.

The foam core consists of two different types of foam. One hard side (purple) and one soft side (green). If you compare the degree of hardness with other manufacturers, then the green side corresponds to a degree of hardness of H2 and the purple side to a degree of hardness of H4. Depending on how you turn the mattress, you will sleep on either the hard or soft side. In addition, both types of foam contain a special cut-out pattern for side sleepers, so that shoulders and pelvis can sink in. If you primarily sleep on your back or stomach, you can turn the mattress 180 degrees so that your upper body is lying on the part without a pattern (i.e. with internal cuts).

By turning and flipping the mattress, you can already experience 4 different levels of firmness.

On top of that, you can add the Visco foam topper that is included. The mattress topper allows the mattress to adapt to the contours of your body and provides pressure relief. With the optional use of the topper, the RECOVERY BASE mattress offers eight different configuration options.

Of course. However, with the 140 cm wide mattress, it is easier if you have help from a second person. In our configurator, we help you choose your personal comfort option.

Yes. After all, we want to make it as easy as possible for you and not keep you from sleeping: the ends of the foam cores are numbered from 1 to 4. The topper is marked with a +. You can find out your individual configuration in our configurator on this page.

For production reasons, the mattress is always delivered in the order shown in Configuration 1: first the soft green layer, followed by the firm pink layer, and finally the topper at the bottom. You can then easily convert the mattress at home according to your individual preferences. Answer a few questions in our configurator and the composition for your perfect mattress will be displayed.

The RECOVERY BASE is a universal mattress and suitable for all types of bed. It is compatible with a box spring bed, a slatted frame, a loft bed and much more. We recommend that you do not place the mattress directly on the floor if possible, as this restricts air circulation and can have a negative impact on the sleeping environment.

Of course. You can wash the mattress cover at 60°C. The lower part of the cover (with the non-slip coating) is not washable. Remove it before washing. Do not iron, bleach or tumble dry the cover. The topper and the foam core are not washable.

Yes. Body heat is absorbed by textiles and reflected back to the body, even through several layers of fabric. In the case of CELLIANT®, the minerals in the fibers reflect infrared heat back to the body. Find out more about CELLIANT® technology.

The bonded foam core has 37kg/m³ with two different compression hardnesses. The green side has a lower compression hardness, the purple side has a higher compression hardness.

You simply place the topper at the bottom of the mattress cover, i.e. under the foam core. And if you fancy a bit of extra comfort, you can take the topper up and place it on the foam core.

Yes. Our mattress is also a restful BASE for children.

Yes. Regular washing of the mattress cover at 60°C can remove mites and dust. Regular vacuuming with an upholstery nozzle also helps.

Our RECOVERY BASE mattress is rolled up for transport and thus compressed. We recommend that you let the mattress lie for 24-72 hours before use to reach its full size.

Since it takes some time to get used to a new mattress, we give you 90 nights to test it. Make yourself comfortable on the mattress at home. And if it's not right for you, we'll pick up the mattress from your home free of charge. You can find more information about the 90-day sleep trial here.

We offer a 10-year guarantee on the BLACKROLL® RECOVERY BASE. This relates to the dimensional stability and durability of the mattress core materials, but not to the cover. The legally prescribed two-year guarantee applies to the cover. You can find all the detailed information in our guarantee conditions.

The Recovery Base is carefully designed to offer you the best possible sleeping comfort. With its innovative construction from two hybrid foams, it offers an excellent balance of support and pressure relief. The right degree of mattress firmness is crucial for restful sleep, as it supports spinal alignment without pressure points.
 

The choice of firmness should be based on your individual comfort level, with body weight and height being important factors. An ergonomic mattress that relieves pressure points while supporting the body is ideal for an orthopedically correct sleeping position. Our RECOVERY BASE offers you optimal pressure relief thanks to the different degrees of firmness and its specially designed pattern – you can configure it according to your individual needs. As a rough guide, people up to 100 kg can use the green foam as a sleeping surface if they prefer a soft mattress. People up to 130 kg should tend to choose the purple hybrid foam as a sleeping surface so as not to sink in too much and thus not put too much strain on the spine.
